NBA trade grades: Breaking down the Jrue Holiday to Boston deal

Jrue Holiday is headed to the Boston Celtics after he was was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers from Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday as part of a three-team trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Bucks. David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers saga dominated the offseason, but it has finally hit its conclusion.

On Wednesday, Portland agreed to trade Lillard as part of a three-team deal with the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns. Lillard heads to Milwaukee, while Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a Milwaukee 2029 unprotected pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030 go to the Blazers. Phoenix adds Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson in the deal.

The trade rumors began flying as soon as Holiday was announced in the deal and by Sunday a move was done for the All-Star guard. The Trail Blazers traded Holiday to the Boston Celtics for Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon, Golden State’s 2024 first round pick and a 2029 unprotected first round pick.
