Before Dirk Nowitzki became a legend for the Dallas Mavericks, he studied then-Orlando Magic center Shaquille O’Neal’s every move — even the ones he made in the recording studio.

On “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Nowitzki said he was such a fan of O’Neal’s that he even listened to Diesel’s music.

“I was a big Orlando fan there when it was Shaq and Penny [Hardaway], and I might be actually the only guy that listened to Shaq rap,” Nowitzki said.

In 1993, O’Neal released “What’s Up Doc? (Can We Rock)

After Nowitzki noted he was knowledgeable about “Shaq rap,” he proceeded to rap O’Neal’s entire verse from the track.

“You know my s— was nice,” O’Neal said about his music.
